Rochester-Pittsford – It’s A Hit!
Tuesday, July 10, 2018
Cost Per Person: $111
Dear Way To Go Traveler,
What better way to celebrate Rochester (and enjoy a summer day!) than a luncheon at the Park Avenue Pub & Grill – they open especially for us year after year!
This year’s excursion includes a boat cruise on the Erie Canal out of Pittsford. Plus for years I have wanted to see the 3 Victorian buildings at the entrance of the Mt. Hope Cemetery. (Rated No. 3 thing to do out of 148 attractions in Rochester by Tripadvisor.) The buildings are beautiful! Not much walking!!! Set your sights for a wonderful day in the Flower City. We will have a local guide in the morning!
6:30am – Bus Report time
6:45am – Depart from McDonalds, Meadow Dr., North Tonawanda
7:10am – Pickup at Tops Supermarket, Main St., & Union Rd., Williamsville
8:30am – Rochester’s Mt. Hope Cemetery – the first Victorian Cemetery in the United States established in 1835.There are 3 unique Victorian buildings at the cemetery’s entrance – just a little walk to them. We do not plan to see any tombstones. 9:15am – Continue the tour with a local guide Bill Goroment – a tour of the downtown core area! He will give you some great information on the past and the present! It’s a city much on the move much like Buffalo!
11:30am – Lunch at the Park Avenue Pub & Grill
By 1:30pm – Depart for the Sam Patch in Pittsford, NY
2pm – Arrive at the Sam Patch boat dock
4:30pm – Return to the dock of the Sam Patch 5pm – Song Hill Winery in Victor, NY – beautiful rolling hills east of Rochester. Known for their sparkling wines. A tasting here with cheese board! “One of several wineries featured in Rochester Food & Wine.”
